Music is an important source and medium for specific cultural values that decide the nation's identity. In the case of Poland its music has played that role successfully down the centuries. Yet today, in order to let her play that role, music must be cultivated i.e., performed, edited and recorded. That is exactly the purpose of the Pro Musica Camerata (established in 1992).
Its principal aim is to provide all-round support to the Warsaw Chamber Opera, notably in staging its unique events such as the Mozart Festival, the Festival of Early Polish Music and the Baroque Opera Festival.
The Foundation draws on the experience of the Warsaw Chamber Opera and its Early Polish Music Research and Documentation Centre.
The Pro Musica Camerata Production - produces CDs of the masterpieces of early Polish music. All these undertakings are intended to build a lasting monument to the composers who created Poland's musical history down the centuries. In this sense, the Foundation's activity is of utmost importance for national and international musical culture, now and in the future.
